THOMAS HOBBS

This page reserved for questioning the motives and/or impact of Thomas Hobbs' LEVIATHAN (1651). Just to pique interest, for now, it is my observation that Hobbs' intention was to vanguard the Restoration in England; not to blueprint a congressional or parlimentary style of government. I noticed this solely in the flow and content of his Leviathan, knowing nothing about his private affairs or confederations. I do not, however, belive that this "conspiracy to restore the throne" was Hobbs' invention. Judging his basic nature by his metod of writing, I believe that Hobbs was a very intellectual man who relished his aristocratic benefactors and, in turn, was persuaded to write PR for Georgie.
